16 May 2013 - Mother's 95th Birthday!

Today was Mother's 95th birthday and in the face of constant reminders that "there's to be no fuss or anything special", there was a lot of behind the scenes activity to ensure it was in fact a special day.

Visitors were fetched from far and wide ( and nearby too), food was organised, flowers delivered, and gifts presented. In the end, she graciously accepted that the day could not be allowed to pass without marking the occasion, and she joined in with enthusiasm.

The book contained pictures from her life, then my cousin arrived with lots more old pictures.

Food and a birthday cake appeared ...

Followed by sparkler fun and cutting the cake so everyone could have a piece ...

 Then outside so there was room for everyone to get into the picture ...

A special day indeed!
